I remember when music was the only way that I could make it through my day.  Mom played music through our whole house with loud speakers that made your body vibrate if you laid down next to it.  But she liked Jackie Wilson, The Platters, Brook Benton, The Shirelles.   When I was 5 she taught me to sing the National Anthem, and I would practice it in the bathroom at the Harundale Mall while she would sell ceramics at her store in the mall.  At 13, I wrote my first actual rap verse, and it was inspired by the song Feel Me Flow by Naughty by Nature.  I said to my same aged niece, we can do that!  I wrote, she didn't.  Ha!  But I've been writing music and songs ever since then.   I remember Mom gave me a tape recorder boombox when I was 4.  I used to listen to it and say silly stuff on it and play it back.  Sometimes, Mom would ask me to sing the National Anthem in front of a crowd of people and put me on the spot, and I w...
